Okay, here's some gossip I'd like to share;
Dean Edwards won't be back this season, making him the third (after Kattan and Tracy) to be leaving following the 2002-2003 season. I liked Dean. I saw potential... but he was always given really terrible parts. Poor guy.
I also heard that The Rock may host the season's first episode (On October 4th) with John Mayer as the musical guest. In the following weeks, it's rumoured Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jack Black will be hosting, with Jane's Addiction and that JC guy from 'N SYNC as the musical guests.
I also hear the new cast members will be Leo Allen, Jill Matson and Eric Slovin. The Internet Movie Database lists appearances on NBC's Ed and the Upright Citizen's Brigade for Allen and appearances on Spin City and the Upright Citizen's Brigade for Slovin. As for Matson, she seems a bit more accomplished; she's appeared on Gilmore Girls, The Jamie Foxx Show, Friends, Veronica's Closet, Titus, According To Jim, Fraser, The Drew Carey Show and 3rd Rock From The Sun. As well, she had a bit part in the Leonardo DiCaprio-Tom Hanks movie Catch Me If You Can.
Finally, Tracy Morgan and Molly Shannon's new sitcoms will debut during the mid-season (Morgan's on NBC, Shannon's on Fox) and Norm MacDonald's new sitcom will debut this fall (and will follow That 70's Show on the schedule).
Any thoughts on any of this? Is anyon else as excited as I am for this coming season? :D

Oh, I love SNL. I was thrilled to come across this community. I actually am not much of a fan of the newer shows, but I adore each season from around 90-96ish.
Favorite season: Hard to choose, any one from the early 90's
Favorite all-time cast members: Probably David Spade.
Favorite current cast member: Eh, I'm not sure how much I like anyone on it anymore...sorry.
Favorite skits: I like the Gap Girls alot, I don't know, there's so many! Celebrity Jeopardy is freakin' awesome! heh.
Favorite episode/host: Oh, definetly Christopher Walken!
